DEF LEPPARD &
JOURNEY’S SUMMER CONCERT TOUR JUST GOT HOTTER
National Tour Extended Due to Overwhelming Demand from Music Fans and Extraordinary Ticket Sales!
New York, NY – May 3, 2006 —
In what is already one of summer’s most successful and sought-after concerts, Def
Leppard and Journey’s rockin’ US tour has been extended due to
an overwhelming demand from music fans for tickets. Dates for the second leg have been announced today. The tour will kick
off on June 23rd in Camden, NJ.
The bands-- along with VH1
Classic and Live Nation-- had only announced a few short weeks ago that
they were pairing up for a summer tour that would run from June until the end of August. Since then, the call for tickets
has far surpassed all expectations, delighting and amazing promoters across the country.
Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen said, “This is what we were hoping for.
We were thrilled with the initial ticket sales and now we can really get on it!”
"I'm looking forward to getting out there and kickin' ass,"
says Journey guitarist Neal Schon. “We're glad that our fans are excited
about this tour, and I think both Journey and Def Leppard will gain some new fans. I'm especially looking forward to playing
guitar with my good buddy Vivian Campbell."
“We’re thrilled with the way music fans have
embraced this tour,” said Bruce Kapp Senior Vice President of Touring for Live Nation, the company producing the tour.
“It’s clear from the way these shows are selling that the Def Leppard and Journey package is going to be one of
the stand out hits of the summer.”
With more than 65 million
albums sold worldwide, Def Leppard – Joe Elliott (vocals), Vivian Campbell
(guitar), Phil Collen (guitar), Rick
“Sav” Savage (bass) and
Rick Allen (drums) – is one of the most continuously exciting and important forces in rock music. Over the
course of their career, the band has produced a series of classic groundbreaking albums that set the sound for generations
of music fans and artist, establishing them as Great Britain's premiere arena rock band. Their spectacular live shows
filled with powerful melodic rock anthems have become synonymous with their name, and they are an institution in the touring
industry as they continue to sell out arenas worldwide.
The band is hitting the road in support of Yeah! their 12th studio album, which is a clever tribute to the band’s musical heroes of the late
60’s and 70’s –The Kinks, Badfinger, T. Rex, David Bowie, Sweet, Roxy Music, Mott the Hoople, Free, Faces
and Thin Lizzy. Scheduled for release on May 23, 2006 from Island/Ume, the album’s concept is one that
the band had hoped to record for over 20 years and brilliantly merges the “Now” with the “Then.” The
release comes hot on the heels of their Platinum-certified 2-CD hits package, Rock
of Ages: The Definitive Collection.
In addition to the tour, Def Leppard will be performing on the
Tonight Show’s summer concert series on May 23rd and will be
saluted on VH1’s Rock Honors, airing on the channel on May 31st.
Def Leppard was also recently honored in the U.S. by the RIAA with two prestigious Diamond Awards for their albums HYSTERIA and PYROMANIA. The Diamond Award recognizes
sales of over 10 million, a feat not many bands and only a handful of British
artists have been able to achieve (The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Elton John, Eric Clapton).
Journey's legacy
has spanned over 30 years with 19 U.S. releases, most recently the critically acclaimed GENERATIONS
(Sanctuary Records, 2005). Four albums landed in the Top Ten of Billboard's "Top 200 Albums" chart, including
1981’s ESCAPE which reached #1. Overall they’ve sold over 75
million albums worldwide making them the 29th best-selling music group of all
time. They were honored with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last year. The band was founded in 1973
in San Francisco by Santana members Neal Schon and Gregg Rolie, with the assistance of Ross Valory, George Tickner and Prairie
Prince. The current line-up—which has been together since 1998--includes Neal
Schon (guitar), Ross Valory (bass), Jonathan
Cain (keyboards), Steve Augeri (vocals) and Deen Castronovo (drums).
Fans of Neal Schon should check out SANTANA III: LEGACY EDITION (Columbia/Legacy, a division of Sony BMG Music Entertainment), which
was released February 21. There they'll find his debut into the music world on this legendary album. The original
first lineup of Santana recorded the band's first three albums for Columbia together before the leader dissolved the band
in late-1971 and struck out in new directions. With the addition of 17-year old guitar prodigy Schon and percussionist/songwriter
Coke Escovedo, they recorded the penultimate third album in February and June 1971, one of rock's defining masterpieces.
SANTANA III: LEGACY EDITION, containing a new expanded edition of that album with four bonus tracks (three of them
previously unissued studio recordings), and a second disc that presents-for the first time as it was heard by the audience-the
band's historic one-hour closing set from the closing night (in the wee hours of the morning) of Bill Graham's Fillmore West
on July 4, 1971.

VH1 CLASSIC & LIVE NATION PRESENTS A SUMMER OF ROCK AS DEF LEPPARD
AND JOURNEY TEAM UP FOR A U.S. TOUR STARTING JUNE 23 IN CAMDEN, NJ
New 2006 Tour
dates are posted!
March 27, 2006 -- Def Leppard and Journey--along with VH1 Classic and Live Nation--are
pairing up for one of the most rockin' tours to hit the U.S. this summer with both bands heading out together starting June
23 in Camden, NJ and concluding August 31 in Seattle, WA.
Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen said of the tour, "Only six months between tours
for Def Leppard...this is amazing...WOW. I think we're getting the hang of this! Usually, we always have to redefine and reorient
ourselves to touring as we are used to a three year gap between tours because of the recording process. This time, we had
the album in the can so we are good to go. We're really psyched to be hitting the road this summer and are looking forward
to seeing all of our fans again."
Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain is especially excited about the opportunity to
tour with another of rock's heavyweights this summer. "It's a band I've admired for a long time," he says. "We're honored
to be performing with a band that received their Diamond Award (an award given for 10,000,000 albums sold) at the same ceremony
when we received our Diamond Award. So it seems fitting that we go out together after all these years and celebrate a lot
of good years of rock and roll."

Dear Friends,
We have enjoyed seeing many of you at the concerts and appreciate all of the families that come to our shows.
We enjoy looking into the audience and seeing people of all ages smiling back at us.
A medical concern has been raised over hearing protection that we have discussed and would like to share with
you. The noise level of a concert can be extremely high, especially in front of the speakers. Please make sure your children
are properly fitted with earplugs, earmuffs, or headphones. These devices will allow them to hear the music and protect them
from potential hearing damage.
Thank you for your kind attention and we look forward to seeing you on tour!

JOURNEY
SIGNS WITH SANCTUARY RECORDS GROUP; ‘GENERATIONS’ ALBUM SET FOR RELEASE OCTOBER 4
August 18, 2005 -- JOURNEY--guitarist Neal Schon, bassist Ross Valory, keyboardist Jonathan
Cain, singer Steve Augeri and drummer Deen Castronovo—are pleased and proud to announce that they have joined forces
with Sanctuary Records Group. The label will release the band’s 13th studio album, GENERATIONS, on October 4
to U.S. retail outlets. “The Place In Your Heart” will be serviced to radio in the upcoming weeks. Keep your eyes
on this site for updates.
The 14-track GENERATIONS album—which will include a 10-page booklet with new photos
and lyrics--was recorded at the Record Plant in Sausalito, CA, where the band recorded 1986’s multi-platinum RAISED
ON RADIO. Their first new recording since 2002’s RED 13 four-song EP and 2001’s full-length ARRIVAL
album, it’s truly what loyal Journey fans have been waiting for. “There’s a real sense of harmony and melody
on this album filled with heartfelt lyrics,” proclaims keyboardist Jonathan Cain. “It has the ballads that people
would expect from us and the rock & roll that I think has the Journey signature sound to it. There’s something for
everybody. There’s a mix of fun, playful songs along with some solid rock tracks. I don’t think it’s going
to disappoint anyone.”
It certainly has not been disappointing to reviewers who have already had a chance to hear the
album, thanks to the earlier overseas release date of August 29 on Frontiers Records. One writer declared: “GENERATIONS
is present and future, and beforehand, an album from an inner musical quality that will pass the test of time.” While
another called it “…a must-buy for melodic rock fans.”
The band turned to an old friend, Kevin Elson, to produce GENERATIONS. He’s the
man responsible for the band’s multi-platinum ESCAPE, DEPARTURE and FRONTIERS albums, as well as
their double-platinum CAPTURED live album. It was Schon’s idea to enlist Michael Fraser (Metallica, AC/DC, Aerosmith)
to team up with Elson to engineer the sessions.
The album title, GENERATIONS, represents the constancy of Journey’s followers old
and new throughout the past 30 years. “There’s a whole new generation that has become fans of ours,” says
Valory. “For the last seven years in particular, I’ve been noticing that there are younger fans at the shows.
Being that Journey has been popular for so long, there are at least three if not four generations of Journey concert-goers
and listeners. We find people older than us and kids in the front row. So many of the lyrics on the album address the lives
of these people.”
In an interesting twist, GENERATIONS is the first Journey album in which all the band
members get a shot at being the frontman. “Everyone is singing at least one, if not two songs on the new album,”
says Valory, “we’ve been doing that on the past few tours and the audiences love it. We’re spreading the
talent around. I like to think of it as a blossoming of new singers who’ve just been playing their instruments before.”
As a sign of gratitude to their devoted fans who helped put Journey in the top 30 best-selling
music groups of all time (having sold over 75 million albums worldwide), copies of GENERATIONS have been exclusively
given away free with the purchase of a ticket at most of the concerts along the U.S. tour route, which is currently underway
and concludes October 9 in Los Angeles at the Greek Theatre.
To make the retail release even more special, the Sanctuary version will include two new songs
(“The Pride Of The Family” and “Never Too Late”) that aren’t on the CD being given to fans at
the concerts. Check out the band’s website for the latest U.S. tour dates. Here’s the complete track listing:
